About Furano

Furano, located in central Hokkaido, Japan, is blessed with four amazing seasons, breath takingly beautiful nature and the best powder snow in Japan.

In winter, Furano enjoys 8 meters of the lightest and driest powder in Japan. For 3 seasons of the year, the vibrant colours of Furano's flowers, the lavender and the rivers and the mountains create a magic, which must be experienced to be believed. Culture and entertainment activities, great sightseeing, delicious local restaurants, fun karaoke bars and the warmest people you are ever likely to come across.

Furano is a fantastic small town with a great world class ski area; it is not a ski resort but a small town with big ski ground.

It is the mountains and the snow, the flowers and the rivers, the volcano and the adventure, the agricultural products which go to make the amazing food and wine and the culture and art which make this one of the most popular tourism destinations for Japanese and international guests alike.

A little effort can go a long way in Furano with magical experiences just around the corner, a new friend on a lift, a great bar tucked behind a rice paper door, an unexpected afternoon sitting and chatting away to a new friend at a melon stand beside the road. Furano is a magical little town.

Furano's magic lies in its location, the experiences, variety, culture and warmth. Furano has perfected the balance between so many of these crucial elements.
